Here is an opportunity to discover what makes certain classical pieces of music so memorable and exciting. Starting with the symphony, we will explore several masterpieces each week in an accessible and non-technical way. We shall also learn about the lives and working practices of some well-known composers.

By the end of the course students should be able to:
Explain what makes a work a masterpiece;
Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of masterpieces.
