Course Summary

Here is an opportunity to discover what makes certain classical pieces of music so memorable and exciting. Starting with the symphony, we will explore several masterpieces each week in an accessible and non-technical way. We shall also learn about the lives and working practices of some well-known composers.

Teaching will be by tutor-led discussion. Definitely no knowledge required. Lots of discussion and music excerpts.

By the end of the course, it is hoped that students will understand a bit more about classical music and find increased enjoyment in their listening.
