The Spanish for Holidays course aims to provide an introduction to the language. The most basic structures and vocabulary of the language are introduced and students have the opportunity to practise communicating in basic everyday holiday situations, such as ordering food, shopping and asking for directions.
By the end of the courses, students will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs whilst on holiday in a Spanish-speaking country.
Spanish for Holidays is targeted at absolute Beginners – those with no previous experience of the language.

The lessons include whole class activities and pair or small group work, role-play, responding to short texts and dialogues and watching video clips. Grammar is introduced in context. More extensive written exercises and reading texts are normally only set as homework. Learning is assessed informally throughout the course with the teacher providing feedback on practice tasks at end of the course in revision and tests.
The primary language used in the class is Spanish.
On completion of this course students have the option to continue their Spanish studies with the course Spanish Beginners 2.
