Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard digital imaging tool. Whether you are new to Adobe Photoshop or just needing a refresher, this introductory course will guide you through its key functions and uses such as importing and exporting images, working with layers, colour and paint features.
Short 1:1 sessions with the tutor will be offered to students once a week within the times outlined below:
Mondays 5.20-6.50pm and Thursdays 5.20-6.50pm
By signing up to the course students will be given access to a free Adobe Creative Cloud licence to the suite of software for the duration of the course. Details will be provided after you have signed up for a course.

Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Photoshop installed

1. Getting started - understanding what the software is used for.
2. Navigating - Exploring Photoshop desktop, getting images into Photoshop, moving around an image, tips for using Photoshop.
3. Image Manipulation; cropping, removing imperfections, adjusting contrast, correcting colours, and sharpening images.
4. Understanding concepts: colour modes, image size, resolution, and print size.
5. Explore working with Layers.
6. Explore working with paint and brushes.
7. Explore working with and adding type.
8. Exporting files and preparing for print.
Teaching will be fully online. Students will need an up-to-date web browser, microphone (ideally head set), webcam and strong Internet connection.
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
Demonstrate a knowledge for the principles of the Adobe Photoshop software package.
Demonstrate an ability to use the key features of the Adobe Photoshop software.
Demonstrate an ability to apply the skills learnt to a project.
